  22. Windows is a sick, sick excuse for an operating system.  Even with all
  23. the hardware acceleration in the world a Windows PC is still a crippled
  24. autistic child with bionic implants.  While it is acceptable for 
  25. spreadsheets and word-processors (barely), it has a very difficult time
  26. coping with the relatively simple things that Modeler does as a graphics 
  27. application.  I bend a lot of rules and play a lot of silly tricks to
  28. get it to work at all.

  30. On most lower-end systems, Modeler will be much faster running in 256
  31. color modes.  On some of the higher-end graphics cards, Modeler will
  32. run at acceptable speeds in true-color.  Try both on your system and
  33. pick what works best for you.  If you're in the market for a new
  34. display card, get some opinions and check out the performance yourself
  35. before you buy.

  37. Someday, if Windows ever grows up and becomes a real window system, you
  38. might even be able to switch graphics modes on the fly.  But don't hold
  39. your breath.
